The next episode of the Mo Show Live will air Wednesday, May 11th at 6:00 PM Central Time and will feature a panel of guests, including James Redmon Jr., Louis Whitlow, and Brian Gossett. Not only does each guest coach young athletes, but they’re also dedicated parents. In this episode, they’ll join Morris to discuss youth and high school sports, as well as the pressure that parents and others may put on these young athletes.
James Redmon Jr. coaches youth sports and has two children who are extremely athletic. His son is a talented baseball player who is also involved in basketball and football. Likewise, Louis (also known as Coach Lou) has coached youth sports for years and has two sons who play high school sports. Lou also runs The Compound 256, an athletic training facility that includes baseball training.
Brian Gossett (also known as Goose) is a college teammate of Morris from Maryville College, where they played football together. Brain was an offensive lineman. Today he’s a dad of two, offensive line coach, and the wrestling coach for Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee. Goose’s team has won seven straight State Championships in football.
According to studies, parents play a key role in determining whether a sport is a fun learning opportunity for their kids or an unhealthy experience. We’ll hear from today’s guests on creating the right balance of pushing children to achieve their best, while also not being too hard on them.
