Half of 2012 Alabama car accident victims not wearing seat belts

Seat belts prevent injury - Martinson & Beason, P.C.Recent news reports show that not wearing a seat belt was a factor in a staggering 59% of the 500 traffic fatalities in Alabama in 2012. Alabama State Troopers investigated 514 car, truck, and motorcycle accident fatalities last year. Of those deaths, 424 people were in vehicles that actually had seat belts installed. 251 of the 424 people who could have buckled up were not wearing their seat belt, which might have prevented their death.

Pharmacy blames cleaners for meningitis outbreak

Meningitis outbreak leads to injury - Martinson & Beason, P.C.More information about the fungal meningitis outbreak that left 14 dead and 200 sickened has come to light. A recent article in CNN reports that the Massachusetts pharmacy responsible for the outbreak, the New England Compounding Center, has demanded that its cleaning contractor share responsibility for the outbreak. UniFirst Corp. replied to the letter, acknowledging that it provided cleaning services once per month for the pharmacy; however, it claims that the pharmacy’s demand is “without merit.”
