Martinson & Beason, P.C. welcomed a familiar face this summer for its summer clerk program. Clay Martinson, son of Partner Doug Martinson, has grown up around Martinson & Beason through his father, grandfather, and uncle.
Clay is a rising 3rd year law student at the University of Alabama School of Law, where he is a member of the Moot Court Board and competes as a member on the Labor and Employment Moot Court Team. Before law school, Clay majored in history at the University of Alabama, and served as Vice President of the Student Government Association.
In the summer clerk program, Clay performed research, wrote memos, drafted motions, and demand letters to insurance companies on behalf of clients. Clay worked on several litigation cases ranging from real estate and probate litigation, Medicare litigation, and serious injury car wrecks.
“Having the opportunity to clerk at the law firm my great grandfather started in 1937 is truly special for me. It is also a testament to the lawyers and staff to be in business for 85 years, where so many clients keep coming back. I have had a great summer getting to learn so many different areas of the law and look forward to taking that knowledge back to my last year of law school and my future law practice.”
We enjoyed having Clay this summer and wish him the best of luck in his 3rd year.
