The next episode of the Mo Show Live will air Wednesday, January 20th at 3:00 PM central time and will feature guests Spencer Beaty and Rashid Moore. The two men’s basketball coaches are uniting for Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers Week, a nationwide movement to help defeat childhood cancer. In this episode, they will share more about their efforts to lead their teams in the fight against cancer.
A highlight of the season, Coaches vs. Cancer is a week of basketball games dedicated to not only raising awareness about childhood cancer, but also supporting research, services, and cancer prevention. Since 1993, coaches have raised over $135 million for the American Cancer Society.
On January 26th, 2021, the Hornets and Highlanders will go head to head for a common cause during the Coaches vs. Cancer and Suits and Sneakers game, a collaboration led by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Knoxville TVA Credit Union is sponsoring the upcoming game and will also donate towards the cause.
This is Spencer Beaty’s second appearance on the Mo Show Live. In 2018, he was named the head men’s basketball coach of the Carter High School Hornets, located in Knox County, Tennessee. Coach Beaty will be joined by Rashid Moore, head coach of the men’s team at Gatlinburg-Pittman. Coach Moore has also been leading the Highlanders, out of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, since 2018.
In this episode, we’ll learn how we can take part in becoming cancer advocates and how both teams will “pass the bucket” for a campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
