Outdoor Ice Skating Returns in Huntsville

Huntsville, Alabama Ice Skating | Martinson & Beason, P.C.

First opened last year, the popular outdoor skating rink by the Huntsville Museum of Art returns this November!

Outdoor ice skating has quickly become a favorite winter activity for many Huntsville residents. Though initially skeptical (an outdoor ice rink in Alabama—really?), the community soon came to the ice in droves.

The rink, located in downtown Huntsville behind the Huntsville Museum of Art, measures fifty by seventy feet—ample room for skaters to glide across the ice. The rink offers admission for ten dollars and skate rentals for three dollars. All of the proceeds go toward supporting the Huntsville Museum of Art.

If you’re like most people in Huntsville, you probably haven’t donned ice skates too many times before now. We recommend keeping warm by wearing lawyers, including a pair or two of thick socks. By wearing thick socks and lacing your ice skates tight, you will be less likely to get painful blisters. When on the ice, make sure to watch out for other skaters—don’t look at your feet. Above all, have fun!

Skating in the Park is a family-friendly event perfect for all ages. This winter, we encourage you to take to the ice!

The ice rink will be open from November 21, 2013 through January 5, 2014. For more information about Skating in the Park, visit the Huntsville Museum of Artwebsite.
